"Civilized City Landscapes" International Photography Competition Call for Submissions

Documenting Urban Transformation, Showcasing the Beauty of Civilization. To amplify the "Post-Asian Winter Games" effect and build a model practice area for the concept that "Ice And Snow Are As Valuable As Gold And Silver Mountains," while seizing opportunities and tapping potential, the "Amplifying the 'Post-Asian Winter Games' Effect to Ignite Ice and Snow Passion" "Civilized City Landscapes" International Photography Competition is now open for entries. The competition is hosted by the Publicity Department of the CPC Harbin Municipal Committee and the Harbin Municipal Civilization Development Guidance Committee Office, organized by Harbin Daily Press and Harbin Photographers Association, and co-organized by the Photography Professional Committee of Harbin Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese and Heilongjiang Folk Photography Association.

Guided by the principle that "Ice And Snow Are As Valuable As Gold And Silver Mountains," Harbin is fully leveraging the "Post-Asian Winter Games" effect, developing the ice and snow economy as a new growth driver, and promoting the integrated development of ice and snow sports, culture, equipment, and tourism. This photography competition aims to showcase outstanding works that reflect Harbin’s urban landscapes, ice and snow culture, humanistic spirit, and practices in building a civilized city. Focusing on the city’s cultural, natural, and social scenes, the competition highlights themes of civilization and ice-snow characteristics, inspiring public participation and supporting Harbin’s high-quality development. Capture the passion of ice and snow through your lens, and convey the power of civilization through imagery! Let the world witness Harbin’s vitality and warmth, and together, write a splendid chapter for the "Asian Winter Games" and the "Post-Asian Winter Games" era!

Themes:

Ice and Snow Asian Winter Games: Capture memorable moments during the preparation and events of the Asian Winter Games, including venue construction, athlete performances, the charm of winter sports, and the city’s vibrant atmosphere.

New Urban Trends: Reflect Harbin’s progress in economic development, ecological conservation, livelihood improvements, and cultural heritage, demonstrating citizens’ sense of fulfillment and happiness.

Submission Period:

From now until April 10, 2025.

Submission Guidelines:

Entry format: Color photographs, single images, or photo series (4-8 images per series) are all acceptable. All works must be original creations shot within the jurisdictional area of Harbin in recent years.

Digital files: JPEG format, with the longer side no less than 3,000 pixels and file size no smaller than 5MB.

Copyright Requirements:

1. Entries must be original, and the author must hold full copyright. Any infringement issues are the responsibility of the submitter. No alterations affecting the authenticity of the original image are allowed, including adding or removing elements.

2. The organizer reserves the right to use winning works for non-commercial purposes (e.g., exhibitions, promotions) without additional remuneration, while the author retains the right of attribution.

3. The organizer holds final interpretation rights for this competition.

Please submit your photographic entries by compressing the folder into a ZIP/RAR file and sending it to the submission email: 1109872043@qq.com. Each image file must be labeled in the format: "Single/Series + Title + Name + Phone Number."

Exhibition and Promotion:

Winning works will be exhibited on "Ice City+", Harbin Daily's omnimedia platforms, and offline exhibitions.

Awards:

1st Prize (1 winner): Prize worth around 3,000 RMB + trophy + certificate

2nd Prize (3 winners): Prize worth around 2,000 RMB + trophy + certificate for each winner

3rd Prize (5 winners): Prize worth around 1,000 RMB + trophy + certificate for each winner

Excellence Award (15 winners): Prize worth around 300 RMB + trophy + certificate for each winner

Selected Awards (multiple winners): Prize worth 100 RMB + certificate for each winner.

Selection Process:

1. Adhering to fairness and impartiality, the organizing committee will invite professional judges to conduct preliminary and final evaluations to determine the winners and award levels.

2. Entries that pass the preliminary selection will be included in the competition's judging pool for the final evaluation phase. All works in the judging pool will be showcased on relevant media platforms.
