On December 5, at the "A Date with Harbin, A Heartwarming Ice City" Asia-Pacific mainstream media field trip launch ceremony, more than 20 mainstream media journalists from over a dozen countries and regions in the region felt the charm of Harbin's ice and snow culture and music culture, and helped the harmonious coexistence of world civilizations.
With the 9th Asian Winter Games in 2025 around the corner, these overseas media reporters will conduct on-site interviews to show Harbin's diverse city image, rich ice and snow resources and profound cultural heritage in five dimensions, including "ice and snow", "culture", "Asian Winter Olympics", "science and technology" and "people's livelihood". These reporters will visit the world's largest indoor ice and snow theme park built by Harbin Ice and Snow World, observe campus ice and snow classes to experience the vitality of Harbin's "millions of young people on ice and snow", and visit the speed skating hall to experience the innovative concept and unique charm of this Asian Winter Games. They will also observe the unique Harbin Ice Harvesting Festival to experience the beauty of the integration of Chinese traditional culture with ice and snow sports and Asian winter elements.

Famous for ice and snow culture, Harbin is known as cradle of China's ice and snow sports. It has provided a large number of talents for China's winter sports and cultivated more than 10 Olympic champions. It was awarded the title of "Olympic Champion City" by the Chinese Olympic Committee. The 9th Asian Winter Games will be held here in 2025, and it will be the third time for Harbin to host an international winter comprehensive sports event, including the 1996 Asian Winter Games and the 2009 World University Winter Games, making it a "double Asian Winter City".
In the "Harbin Story" session, short track speed skating Winter Olympic champion Zhang Hui told her story in the title "Harbin, the City of Sports", talking about her growth in Harbin and her journey to becoming a world champion, showing the glory of the "Ice City". The internet celebrity "Sister Bing" (Yu Bing) talked about "A Century of Prosperity in Harbin" and shared the extraordinary history and unique culture of this city.
At the launch ceremony, Harbin Opera House presented string quartet "Snowing Harbin" and "Skating Waltz", allowing everyone to appreciate the charming style of this music city.
